Best wishes to all for a pleasant holiday season and a good year in 2009 - in spite of financial chaos and the prospect that we all might have to live more simply - something we've been admitting we ought to do, but don't seem to actually accomplish until forced into it...

I had a very busy summer season, and am now moved back into the old hotel for the winter. As soon as the holidays are over, I will be focusing on some creative exploration with an open-ended goal of putting together a group of pieces suitable for a show somewhere. In the meantime, I would like to share a few recent batiks with you - including one from a series of triangular hangings, and a piece on hemp hung with a heavy hemp canvas behind it.
